Kerala court sentences husband to 10 years’ jail, imposes Rs 12.55 lakh fine in Vismaya dowry death case

An extra meetings court in Kerala’s Kollam Tuesday condemned a previous state government worker to 10 years of thorough detainment and forced a fine of Rs 12.55 lakh after he was found liable in an endowment demise case.

Furthermore, the court forced six years of thorough detainment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh under Section 3 of the Dowry Prohibition Act alongside one-year thorough detainment and a fine of Rs 5,000 under Section 4 of the Act.Judge K N Sujith, in his decision, said every one of the sentences would run simultaneously. Of the absolute Rs 12.55 lakh fine forced on the convict, Rs 2 lakh must be paid to the guardians of the person in question.

Vismaya’s family said they would move an allure, looking for life detainment for the convict.

Vismaya was tracked down dead in Kumar’s home in Kollam under baffling conditions on June 21, 2021. Following the episode, Kumar was excused from administration.

The couple got hitched in May 2020. Kumar was supposedly discontent with another vehicle, costing Rs 11 lakh, talented to the couple by Vismaya’s dad Trivikraman Nair.
